For 2023, look out for India! Whether you have traveled to India before or not, you’ll find lots to do here in the coming months.

India is a diverse and vast country located in South Asia. It is the seventh largest country in the world by land area and the second most populous country with over 1.3 billion people. India has a long and rich history dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization, which flourished in the western region of the country around 2500 BCE. Throughout its history, India has been home to a multitude of cultures and religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, which have all left their mark on the country’s art, architecture, and way of life.

Lollapalooza India

If you’re a music lover and a music festival fanatic, then you’ll want to book a ticket to Mumbai, India. The global music festival, Lollapalooza, has finally made its way over to Asia. Partying for two days from January 28 – 29, the course will have 4 stages with over 40 international and local artists. Some big names will be Imagine Dragons, Japanese Breakfast, Diplo, Jackson Wang, and so many more. They will have incredible local acts such as Mali and Bombay Brass. Music is not all they will have here! There will be food, games, charitable organizations, and even activities for kids.

HillTop Festival

A more local festival is the HillTop Festival in Goa, which is south of Mumbai. This music festival has the reminisce of a 60s clubbing hippie vibe with the genre of trance to party to. The music will give you an out of body experience! This is a 4-day festival. Make sure to keep up to date with the event here: HillTop Festival Facebook

Mark your calendar for March 8, 2023! What better way to welcome the spring season than to celebrate Holi in India! This is not a music festival, although you will hear loud music and crowds on the streets during this festive day. It is a holiday celebrating love and goodness as well as the love of Radha and Krishna. Everyone including family and kids will go out with colored powder and spread the joy of this day. It is a holiday you have to celebrate at least once in your life. Enjoy the happiness!

Other than fun events, you have to go out and explore the food culture in India. To speak of India is to also speak of her rich foods; as India is a country with a rich culinary tradition that offers a wide variety of food options to try. Indian cuisine varies widely by region, with popular regional cuisines including Punjabi food from the north, Tamil Nadu food from the south, and Gujarati food from the west. Street food is also popular in India and includes dishes like chaat, vada pav, and panipuri. There are also many vegetarian and meat dishes to try in India, including aloo gobi, chana masala, and tandoori chicken. Indian sweets and desserts, such as gulab jamun, kulfi, and ras malai, are also known for their sweetness and richness.

One interesting tourist fact about Indian culture is that it is the birthplace of Buddhism. Buddhism is a religion and philosophy founded in ancient India by Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha. The Buddha’s teachings, known as the Dharma, focus on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, and emphasize the importance of morality, wisdom, and compassion. Buddhism spread from India to other parts of Asia and is now practiced by millions of people around the world.
