Almost Got Stuck in Macau | Hong Kong

Today, I did a day trip to Macau. I bought discounted ferry tickets from myrealtrip, which is a Korean company. It was recommended to me by my friend. For English websites, I’ve seen some pretty good deals on KLOOK and KKDAY.

I got to the ferry terminal by 10:30AM. The next available ferry for me was 12:30PM. When I claimed my ticket with my e-voucher, I had the chance to select my return time to Hong Kong and I chose 8:00PM. While I waited, I ordered a Hong Kong-style breakfast 🙂

Hong Kong-style breakfast: milk tea; plate of sausages, toast, scrambled eggs; bowl of mac and ham soup

Since I had so much time to kill, I walked around the terminal center. I stumbled upon this room of cute mini plushies!

A child’s dream

I think I circled around all three floors of the whole center three times to see all the shops and restaurants. There wasn’t much else to do. Finally at 12:00PM, I headed for my boarding gate.

When we arrived at the Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal, I took the free shuttle bus to the Venetian Macau Hotel. There, I shopped at the Grand Canal Shoppes. The interior reminded me of the one in Las Vegas, Nevada!

Then, I spotted Lord Stow’s Bakery and Café! It was one of the places I wanted to try egg tarts from in Macau! I didn’t know there was one in this center~

They were so nicely baked!! The line and wait wasn’t too long either. The service was really quick. I bought six in a box. There was no way I could finish them all by myself and I was planning on saving some to bring back to my hotel for later haha

After that, I walked into stores I wanted to shop at.

Shopping at H&M

After I was done shopping, I took the taxi from the hotel to the other side of Macau to check out Senado Square! It took less than 20 minutes to get there with slight traffic. The taxi fare was HKD$95 (~USD$10).

Senado Square! We have arrived!

For dinner, I tried beef offal at Kam Wan Beef Offal. I ordered a small bowl, which was HKD$38 (~USD$4).

Another food item that I really wanted to try was pork chop bun and I happened to walk by this place called Duffy. The pork was soft, tender, and juicy. The bun was also soft and nicely soaked up the oiliness of the meat. Cost: HKD$42 (~USD$5).

After finishing this bun, I headed back to the main road of Senado Square to catch a taxi back to the Taipa Ferry Terminal.

My time management was kind of off. I didn’t realize how difficult it was to get a taxi at that point and time. It took me about 20 minutes of walking back and forth and eagle-eyeing each taxi cab. I arrived exactly at 8:00PM, but it was too late to board my ferry. I had to buy the next time ticket, which wasn’t too bad and I easily got on for the 8:30PM ferry. It takes approximately one hour between Hong Kong and Macau.

Two things to take away from this Macau day trip: A day is not enough and try as many food as you can!!

Sincerely,
Amy♡
